1.1.23_This is me not procrastinating

One of my “no’s” for 2023 is procrastination; one of my “yes’s” is to write regularly.

Prior to sitting down to write this, I procrastinated by walking around the house, cleaning up my desktop, thinking about how to write this post perfectly.

Which brings me to another “no” – perfectionism. Which both masquerades as and stems from things such as overthinking, fear of others’ opinions, a lack of confidence in the value of my words.

So here I am, not feeling particularly motivated and mildly anxious that I’m putting subpar, possibly terrible content into the digital universe. But I am doing the opposite of procrastinating and perfectionisting, so it will be considered a win.

If you are reading this, you should also know that I tried to procrastinate the writing of this by trying to look for a book on how to not procrastinate.

Listen, brain – let’s decide together what to do and do it without all of the circuitous tasks of procrastination. Let’s forge a new neural pathway of writing regularly. Okay? Okay.

Cheers and happy new year to all.
